2002 BADGER INSTRUMENTAL/VOCAL COMPETITION

The following students were winners in the flute category: elementary flute winner was Noel Burrow, student of Sandra Merkley; elementary flute honorable mention went to Jessica Matthews, also a student of Sandra Merkley. The intermediate category winner in the flute division was Melissa Worden, student of Kathryn Warrchaiet; honorable mention went to Sara Weisenbeck, student of Sandra Merkley.

In the string division, the early elementary winner was Katie Teschler, student of Linda Strong. The runner-up was Abby Weiss, also a student of Linda Strong. Honorable mention in this category was given to Vincent Phillips, student of EvaLee Kunkel. Elsa Pederson, student of Linda Strong, was the winner in the elementary string division. Runner-Up in the same category was Carl Cooley, student of Linda Strong. Honorable mentions were earned by Matias Valero, student of Linda Strong; and Alysan Phillips, student of EvaLee Kunkel in the elementary string division. The winner in the intermediate string division was Joseph Phillips, student of EvaLee Kunkel. Marla Hawley, student of Linda Strong was the runner-up. Brianna Kunkel and Ariellla DePrenger-Gottfried, both students of EvaLee Kunkel, received honorable mentions in the intermediate string category.

Two elementary vocal students received honorable mention at the Badger auditions. They are Tasha Gotter and Jacklyn Svejda, both students of Cynthia Penker. Lara Carlson, student of Erin Philleo, was the winner in the intermediate vocal division. David Burman, student of Nancy Burman, was the runner-up in this division. Alisha Heimstreet, student of Linda Heimstreet, and Shannon Schottler, student of Nancy Burman, both received honorable mentions in the intermediate vocal division. In the advanced vocal division, Melissa Seehafer, student of Cynthia Penker, was the winner. Katie Gherty, student of Nancy Burman was the runner-up.
