Congratulations to the students, and their teachers, who entered the 2004 MTNA Student Composition Competition! There were sixteen entries this year, supported by nine teachers. The three adjudicators were Dr. Joanne Metcalf, Professor of Composition at Lawrence University; Matt Turner, an accomplished jazz composer and performer from Appleton; and Dr. James Chaudoir, Professor of Theory and Composition at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The first place winners performed in the winner's recital at the state conference in Appleton on October 23, 2004.
