AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
Inspirational and skilled
educators can help children envision bright futures and realize great
accomplishments. The WMTA Teacher Award of Excellence recognizes
and promotes excellence in the music teaching in our state by an
individual member. These recipients demonstrate a record of outstanding
accomplishments by their students in WMTA auditions and competitions and
proven high standards of teaching in their studio. The Award of Excellence certificate is
presented to WMTA member teachers based on participation of their students
in WMTA auditions.
The Award is given when a teacher's
students have earned any combination of 10 WMTA awards--plaques or bars.
For instance, if a student has earned 75 points, he or she would have
received 3 awards - a plaque, a 50-point bar and a 75-point bar. A new certificate is issued when a
teacher's students have earned a total of 50 awards and again when they
have earned 75 awards.
-
When a teacher's students have earned
100 awards, a special plaque (inscribed with the teacher's name) is
awarded.
-
Recipients of this award are recognized
at the annual state conference banquet.
-
To receive any of these awards, the
teacher should submit a list of their students and the awards they have
won to the WMTA Award of Excellence chair.
-
Deadline for awards is September 15th.
